Kathleen Murphy, PA
Kathleen has been practicing as a Pediatric Physician Assistant for just over 12 yrs. When moving in to pediatrics lactation became a big part of her care of babies and families. She became a Certified Lactation Counselor and has now been an IBCLC for almost 9 yrs. Lactation support and helping families achieve their goals for feeding has played a significant role in her practice. She has helped to coordinate several lactation conferences as part of her local breastfeeding coalition to provide ongoing learning opportunities and bring various breastfeeding support people together including hospital staff, private lactation consultants, WIC and doulas among others. This has played a large role in providing complete lactation care to those in the area from prenatal through weaning. Kathleen is a graduate of University at Albany, and completed her Physician Assistant degree at LeMoyne College. She lives in upstate NY with her husband and three children. Having breastfed her children and now worked with many families over the years she recognizes that infancy is a time of great joy and each family will make their way on this journey in the way that feels right for them. She is honored to help support and be a part of this journey.
