Mike specializes in helping people move from what’s real to what’s ideal. Understanding that personal health and well-being includes the mind as well as the body, Mike utilizes a solution focused approach to assist people in dealing with anxiety, stress, depression and everything in between.
Mike grew up in and has spent the majority of his life in Oklahoma. After graduating from Mustang High School in 1992, he attended Oklahoma Baptist University, majoring in Bible. In 1996, Mike graduated from OBU, married his college sweetheart and they started their life together serving the Lord in Pastoral Ministry. Mike then went on to obtain a Master of Arts degree in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and continued serving as a Pastor in Oklahoma until 2010. Mike moved the focus of his ministry to counseling by earning a Master of Arts degree in Counseling through Mid-America Christian University and working as a Counselor since 2015.
Mike and his wife Darla are raising four teenagers, three boys and one girl…and yes, she has daddy wrapped around her little finger. They enjoy camping, hiking and taking trips to see Paw-Paw in Texas.
“In all honesty,” Mike says, “I think the things I’ve learned over the years as a father and as a pastor are helping me serve people through counseling as much as my academic training. I’ve learned that people have a lot more resources available within themselves than they often realize. In helping them realize their inner resources, people can create the most wonderful and personalized solutions for many of the challenges they face.”
