Dr. Karen Stephenson is a Board-Certified Internist and trained in general Pediatrics. She has been in practice for over 20 years. She has held positions as Director of Medical Services at New York Presbyterian Lawrence Group and has over 15 years of experience in the Emergency Room from Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City to St. Mary’s in Passaic, NJ.
She obtained her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson now Rutgers Medical in New Jersey. She also completed her medical internship and training at the State University of New York Downstate in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and was given the title of Chief of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in her final year of training. At SUNY Downstate she had the opportunity to manage a multiplicity of medical problems affecting African Americans, Caribbean, and international patients. She has also worked with the active military and their family to address the specific medical and mental needs of this population. She believes that a holistic approach to medical management is needed.
