Yes, an online doctor or provider on Sesame can write or refill a prescription during your telehealth visit. Clinicians on Sesame can prescribe medications to help treat infections, anxiety, depression, allergies, high blood pressure, and more.

If medication is prescribed during your online visit, your provider will send your prescription to your preferred pharmacy for same-day pickup.

Note that providers on Sesame cannot prescribe controlled substances.

Sesame providers can prescribe a wide variety of common medications, including antibiotics, antidepressants, allergy medications, blood pressure medications, and more. However, they are not able to prescribe controlled substances, such as stimulants, opioids, or benzodiazepines

Please keep in mind that all prescriptions are issued at the discretion of your provider. If your provider decides a prescription is not necessary, the appointment is not refundable.

Telehealth appointments are medical visits that allow you to speak to a doctor or health care provider online via video call. These visits allow you to access care at home or on-the-go, often at a better price.

To get the most out of your visit, make sure you are in a well-lit space with a solid wifi connection.

To book an online doctor appointment on Sesame, simply use our search bar to look up your health concern (such as "prescription refill", "weight loss", or "UTI").

From there, simply browse providers, choose a time that works for you, and book your appointment. You’ll receive a booking confirmation with a link for your video visit, which you can join from your desktop, tablet or smartphone.

If your provider prescribes medication as part of your treatment plan, they’ll send it to your preferred pharmacy for same-day pickup.

It depends on your needs. Virtual care (telemedicine) is convenient for discussing symptoms, prescriptions, and general concerns.

After you book your appointment, you’ll receive a video link via text and/or email. Simply click that link at your scheduled appointment time to join your video visit.

No. If your Sesame provider prescribes medication during your telehealth visit, the cost of the medication is not included in your visit price. The price you pay for your prescription depends on your insurance coverage (if you have it) and the pharmacy you choose.
