Shicara Irvin, PMHNP, started her career as a Medical Service Apprentice in the United States Air Force Reserve. In 2006, she obtained a diploma as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Augusta Technical College. In 2010, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Norfolk State University. In 2017, a Master of Science in Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from Walden University, and Postmaster Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley in 2018. Shicara is a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
Shicara Irvin has several years of nursing experience working in multiple nursing specialties, including emergency department, mental health, and case management in which she is dual-certified. Her mental health experience includes working in acute care, inpatient detox facilities, residential facilities, community mental health centers and private practice.
She specializes in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, insomnia, sleep-wake disorders, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorders.
