The use of avanafil has been shown to cause side effects in some patients.

Common mild side effects of avanafil use include:

• A feeling of warmth (flushing)

More severe side effects include:

• An erection that lasts more than 4 hours
  
• Low blood pressure
  
• Fainting
  
• High blood pressure
  
• Blurred vision or loss of vision
  
• Ringing or pounding in the ears
  
• Hearing loss
  
• Rash
  
• Itching
  
• Swelling
  
  

Seek medical attention immediately if you experience any severe symptoms while using avanafil. If you experience mild side effects that become severe or do not go away after a few days, speak to a healthcare provider right away.

Tell your healthcare provider about any existing medical conditions, allergies, or other medications you are taking before starting treatment with avanafil. This includes prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and dietary supplements, as they may interact with this drug.

Tell your provider if you are taking these medications or supplements:

• Riociguat
  
• Nitrates or medications for chest pain
  
• Omeprazole
  
• Blood pressure medications
  
• Antibiotics
  
• Antifungals
  
• Antivirals
  
• Zafirlukast
  
• Heart rhythm medications

• Vision problems
  
• Bleeding disorders
  
• Blood cell disorders (like sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, leukemia)
  
• Liver disease
  
• Kidney disease
  
• Priapism
  
• Physical deformities of the penis (like Peyronie’s disease)
  
  

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your healthcare provider before using avanafil to assess potential risks and benefits.

Your healthcare provider will provide specific instructions regarding the use of avanafil with food, beverages, and other medications. It's essential to follow their guidance to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment and minimize the risk of side effects.

Avoid consuming large amounts of alcohol while taking avanafil, as it can increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness, headache, and low blood pressure. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact with avanafil and lead to unwanted side effects. Discuss any dietary concerns with your healthcare provider.

In case of an avanafil overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

Symptoms of overdose may include:

• Severe dizziness
  
• Fainting
  
• Prolonged erection (lasting more than 4 hours)
