What is baclofen?
Baclofen is a prescription medication used to treat muscle pain and certain types of muscle spasms caused by injuries or musculoskeletal conditions. It is classified as both an antispasmodic and muscle relaxant medication. This medication is prescribed as a supplemental treatment option for patients managing multiple sclerosis (MS), spinal cord injury, and spinal cord disease. While baclofen cannot cure the conditions listed above, it can help relax muscles and increase the range of motion in the back - improving the efficacy of other forms of treatment such as physical therapy and exercise. It can also help reduce the uncomfortable and sometimes painful spasms associated with spinal cord injuries and disease.
