What are the side effects of glipizide ER?

The use of glipizide ER can lead to various side effects in some individuals.

Common mild side effects of glipizide ER use include:

  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Rash
  • Tremors
  • Stomach upset

More severe side effects of glipizide ER use can include:

  • Signs of an allergic reaction (like rash, hives, swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing)
  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) with symptoms like sweating, dizziness, confusion, or fainting
  • Unusual weight gain
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Severe stomach or abdominal pain
  • Persistent nausea or vomiting
  • Dark urine
