Rabeprazole is typically prescribed to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and other disorders associated with excessive production of stomach acid. This includes erosive esophagitis and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Rabeprazole may be prescribed in conjunction with antibiotics (such as amoxicillin) as a treatment for ulcers caused by an H. pylori bacterial infection.
