While adverse reactions to simvastatin are rare, some patients who take the drug may experience mild side effects, including:
- Constipation
- Stomach pain
- Nausea
- Headache
- Itchy or red skin
Serious adverse effects may occur. Get immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following:
- Changes in urine color
- Decrease in urine volume and frequency
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes
- Stomach pain
- Fatigue
- Muscle weakness
- Muscle pain
- Fever
- Chills
- Skin rash
- Hives
- Swelling
- Difficulty breathing
A very small number of people taking simvastatin may experience mild memory problems or confusion. Talk to your doctor if these effects occur.
