While adverse reactions to simvastatin are rare, some patients who take the drug may experience mild side effects, including:
Itchy or red skin
Serious adverse effects may occur. Get immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following:
Dark, reddish, or decreased urination
Muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness (this may be accompanied by fever or lack of energy)
Loss of appetite
Pain in the upper right part of the stomach
Yellowing of the skin or eyes
Fever or chills
Sensitivity to light
Any signs of an allergic reaction (such as itching, rash, hives, blisters, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs.
A very small number of people taking simvastatin may experience mild memory problems or confusion. Talk to your doctor if these effects occur.
