Pramipexole is a prescription used to help improve muscle control, movement, balance, discomfort in the legs, and a strong desire to move your legs. Pramipexole may be prescribed along with other medication(s) to provide you with the best outcome possible.
Pramipexole is available as a tablet in both immediate-release and extended-release forms taken by mouth. Either form can be taken to treat Parkinson’s disease, but only the immediate-release tablets can treat restless legs syndrome. Discuss the timing and frequency of your dosage with your doctor.
Pramipexole can be taken with or without food, but taking it with food may help prevent nausea caused by the medication. The tablet must be taken whole. Do not chew, crush, or split them.
