Alecia developed a passion for medicine at a young age after witnessing her grandfather's ongoing struggle with heart disease. As an adult Alecia pursued becoming a nurse practitioner after working as a nurse for 10 years to provide primary care to individuals she witnessed in her home state of Oklahoma suffering from lack of care due to living in rural locations. Alecia's personal lifelong battle with her weight, having lived as a morbidly obese individual most of her life and then her subsequent 175 lb weight loss in 2016 caused her to seek ongoing education for a sub-specialty in the care of individuals battling weight and weight-related conditions. Providing this specialty care has allowed her to change the lives of hundreds of individuals which has been her life's biggest blessing.
