Dr. Allison Edwards, MD, is a dedicated and compassionate physician with a mission to change the way healthcare is delivered. She emphasizes preventive care and overall wellness rather than solely focusing on treating illness. With expertise in public health, women's health, preventive medicine and emergency medicine, Dr. Edwards is a well-rounded healthcare provider. A native of Lawrence, she pursued her undergraduate degree at Drake University before returning to Kansas City for medical school at the University of Kansas. She then completed her residency and served as Chief Resident at the University of Colorado in Denver, CO.
Dr. Edwards is currently board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. In addition to providing care at KCDPC, Dr. Edwards serves as a Volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Kansas and a Volunteer Clinical Instructor for the University of Colorado.
Her in-person services include flu vaccines, ear wax removal, ingrown toenail removal, wart removal, TDAP vaccines, annual direct primary care memberships, skin biopsies and STI screenings. She also offers a number of women's health services, including Nexplanon birth control implants and removals, Pap smears and IUD insertions and removals. She also offers telehealth visits for existing patients.
