Dr. Dyan Hes is founder and medical director of Gramercy Pediatrics in New York City. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Obesity Medicine and served as Director of the American Board of Obesity Medicine for 8 years. Currently she serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
Dr. Hes has two downtown locations for Gramercy Pediatrics, one in Gramercy and the other in the Chelsea neighborhood. She is an active advocate for pediatric and adolescent nutrition and weight management. Over the years, she has developed many programs to combat obesity among children. In 2006, she served as an Expert Witness at the New York City Department of Health Hearing to Ban Trans Fat in Restaurant Food.
Using her more than 20 years of experience in the field, with a degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Hes serves as a weekly Medical Correspondent for CBS News. She is also a medical contributor on NBC, CNN, WPIX News, Newsmax, MSNBC, NY1, and FOX News. She contributes to articles on various pediatric topics in newspapers, periodicals, and internet sites including the Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, MSN Health, Romper, Parents, and others.
Dr. Hes dedicates much of her time to serving on the scientific advisory boards of the Grain Foods Foundation, Ritual Vitamins, and Lil’ Mixins. She is also a speaker for Abbott Nutrition.
