Dr. Janelle Louis, ND, PMHNP-BC is a licensed naturopathic doctor and board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who specializes in helping children and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, bipolar disorder, PMDD, and other mental health-related concerns to move from surviving to thriving. She takes a holistic approach and specializes in integrative psychiatry, helping patients using a combination of natural or holistic supplementation recommendations, medication management, and psychotherapy. Dr. Louis' approach involves addressing any underlying physical factors that could be contributing to poor mental health—such as thyroid dysfunction, poor blood sugar control, nutritional deficiencies, and more. She also uses a combination of therapy to help address unhealthy patterns of thinking and medication management when needed, in order to help clients truly heal.
Dr. Louis offers care in English and speaks Spanish with intermediate-level proficiency. She is able to treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health concerns, and she can help patients ensure that any supplements they may be taking are not interacting with their medication. She offers a number of telehealth options on Sesame, including virtual mental health consult, mental health telehealth visit, online psychiatry consult, and online therapy sessions for new and existing patients.
Dr. Louis chose to specialize in the field of mental health because of the difficult time that her mother experienced many years ago when trying to find help with her mental health. Dr Louis specialized in mental health with a goal of being an advocate for her patients, taking time with them, helping them identify the underlying causes of their concerns, and ultimately, helping them to find the right plan that would enable them to feel like themselves again and thrive.
