Javier is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a practice philosophy of getting to know each patient holistically and utilizing the individual's strengths they already possess to plan care that is tailored to their needs. He believes that establishing an open and trusting partnership with each patient is the greatest factor in identifying the thoughts and behaviors that patients may seek to change for a better quality of life and satisfaction. Javier is trained in Integrative Psychiatry principles, aligning with his philosophy of identifying other root causes of mental health problems outside of the limits taught in traditional psychiatry.
Javier is actively involved in his community in promoting wellness through breathing techniques, group yoga and meditation, athletic training and mindfulness coaching. His coaching and therapy skills have been refined to help guide his patients along different life issues, specializing in LGBTQ+ issues, strengthening and navigating relationships, sex-positive counseling, workplace burnout, processing grief or loss, as well as improving patients' resilience & motivation to achieve personal & professional goals.
Javier is able to diagnose and prescribe for a variety of illnesses including depression, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, PTSD, bipolar disorder, insomnia, addiction and eating disorders and has extensive experience in alternative mental health therapies such as TMS and Ketamine/Spravato therapies.
