Jessica Valdez PA-C, I’ve been doing ER, urgent care, and family medicine for 15 years. I am a member of CAPA. I can offer care in English and Spanish.
I chose a career in medicine because, from a very young age, I knew I wanted to help people and I would feel a sense of compassion for the ill and disabled. I just felt so bad for them when I would see them in the streets unable to walk. I could remember being 6-7 years old and feeling so sad. So now that I’m in this position and have the knowledge my goal is to provide the best care to every patient that crosses my path.
What I most enjoy after I’m done with assessing and examining my patients is to be able to explain and educate them so they have a better understanding of what is going on with them. And the biggest reward is when they are so grateful for the care they received and they let you know. It feels very special because not everyone can do what I can. Makes me feel grateful for the position I’m in. I grew up in an underserved community and I’m very aware of the disparities some people receive I think that’s another value factor that can bring the best out of a clinician.
