Kim has extensive experience treating military combat trauma, sexual trauma, and survivors of childhood trauma. Utilizing an evidenced-based therapy called EMDR (Learn more about EMDR at http://www.emdria.org), her clients have achieved great success in the form of reduction of symptom severity and improved relationships.
Kim also works with depression and anxiety symptoms in teens and adults. Kim also works with addictions- both substance abuse (alcohol and drug abuse/addiction) as well as what are called process addictions (gambling, shopping, sex).
Kim has experience working with relationship issues (marital or family) to include remarriage challenges, blended families, and challenges associated with parenting teenagers.
Kim is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University with a Masters Degree in Social Work and Texas state Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She also is a graduate of University of Phoenix with a Masters Degree in Community Counseling and is a Texas state Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFT-S), and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Kim is certified in EMDR by the EMDR International Association.
