Sean Ryan is a board-certified Physician Assistant who specializes in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and who has been practicing for 6 years. He is a member of the AAPA, FAPA and the CMDA. I chose to work in mental health because during my clinical rotations I saw that patients actually got better, rather than just their conditions being managed. I practice Integrative Psychiatry using standard-of-care medications for most psychiatric conditions and incorporate spiritual care, CBT and motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies addressing substance abuse. I’m passionate about what I do and believe that patient education is the secret weapon for helping my patients get better. When people understand their illness fully it makes recovery actually make sense.
