Ms. Shannon Hiser became fully licensed in 2009, after 8 years of experience in Community Mental Health facilities. During her licensure experience, she worked extensively with diverse individuals ranging in diagnoses from Schizophrenia and Co-Occurring illnesses to General Anxiety and Dysthymia, and families with problems ranging from minor emotional incongruence to severe parental alienation.
She enjoys working with all ages and types of problems or life changes, and specializes in Integrative Team Treatment approach to treatment problems related to attachment and relationship, Gestalt Play Therapy techniques, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), using these modalities and other techniques for managing trauma, anxiety, and dysregulation.
Ms. Hiser believes in the process of developmental growth and change, as well as its ever-evolving form or path, with each step being revealed as we are personally ready to continue on our journey. Processing our thoughts, memories, experiences, and emotions within the reflective, compassionate, and safe environment of the therapy room, allows for us to identify barriers and stuck points that we carry from our past, unpacking the baggage that prevents us from the joy of the present moment, and overcoming our fear of what the future holds.
