Focusing on a person's strengths helps empower them/build self-esteem. Changing intrusive thoughts with positive thinking helps deal with feelings of depression & anxiety. Living in the moment will help a person remain grounded & balanced. These are just a few examples of therapeutic approaches that will be utilized in our therapy sessions.
My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused, allowing patients to move forward while addressing unresolved issues from the past. I aim to create a supportive, empowering space where patients can work towards a healthier, more fulfilling future.
During our first session, I would like to know what brings you to therapy, as well as what preliminary goals you would like to attain in this process, what are your expectations in therapy and what you can identify as barriers in this journey.
Many times, we don’t realize that it takes a village to deal with mental health. By working together, we can work towards the attainment of your mental and emotional wellness. Taking care of our mind is just as important as taking care of our body.
I believe in life we follow a golden thread. My golden thread goes as far back as my childhood and has brought me to my career choice of being a Mental Health Counselor. I chose to go into the counseling profession because I am passionate about helping others heal and grow. I find it incredibly fulfilling to work alongside patients, guiding them to unlock their strengths and navigate through challenges.
What I enjoy most is witnessing their personal transformation as they overcome obstacles and gain confidence. The fact that a person can become totally vulnerable, and allows me to partake in their journey, is one of the unconditional reasons of what drives me to do this work.
