When you pick up your medication at your pharmacy, the pharmacist can check your coverage using the insurance they have on file or the information you provide.

You don’t usually need a previous prescription to get a prescription online. A licensed provider can write a new one after reviewing your health history and symptoms during a telehealth visit. Ultimately, the decision to prescribe medication is up to your provider and whether or not they think the medication is right for you.

However, if you are refilling an existing medication, your Sesame provider may ask you to see a picture of an old pill bottle or see prior prescription records to confirm your medication dosage needs. Your Sesame provider may also be able to look up your past prescriptions from other doctors through a national pharmacy system.
