I've been a physical therapist since 2012 and earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences at the St. Augustine, FL campus. The school was founded by Dr. Stanley V. Paris, PT, PhD and has a strong foundation of manual physical therapy. Over the years I've practiced in multiple settings including hospital acute care, outpatient, and home health. I established Hyland Physical Therapy and Wellness, LLC in Broken Arrow, OK in 2018. Due to mu passion for caring for the aging adult I became a Certified Exercise Expert for the Aging Adult through APTA Geriatrics, setting me apart as a true specialist in exercise prescription in order to better serve this population.
I also have a passion for helping person's with Parkinson's Disease (PWP) and have been helping PWP since 2013 through the LSVT BIG program since 2013. I am committed to helping aging adults to learn what they are capable of and that they have the power to control the ability to age successfully, to live the active and full lifestyles that they desire, and to be able to improve their pain or other limitations. This is especially true of those 65 and better, who often are told by society that they are "getting old" and should expect to hurt, or to become dependent, or that falls are a "natural" part of aging. I especially want to empower these people with the knowledge and the tools to use for a bright future.
