I am a Clinical Social Worker with a background in treating behavioral health and substance abuse issues at community agencies and hospitals in New York City. My own personal experiences coping with anxiety was one of the key reasons I got into this line of work, and so I can understand how important your wellness and self-care is.
I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy which is a approach that has been shown to be effective at helping resolve a wide variety of issues. In CBT we will take a look at the way our thoughts influence our mood, and how to change unhelpful thoughts to feel better. My approach is person centered and collaborative. I believe you're the best expert in your life, and so together we will develop goals and plans to help you reach goals that you feel will best improve your quality of life.
Our first session will be an conversation where I will be getting to know you, your history, and what concerns have brought you to therapy. Over the course of therapy, you can expect to develop coping skills, adaptive thinking strategies, and tools that will help you better handle problems you are facing.
