Juan Fernandez, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, practices family medicine with an approach informed by experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, and weight loss. He helps sort through symptoms, explain options, and make a workable plan. Patients often describe him as kind, respectful, and thorough—patient with the process and focused on finding answers. He provides care in English and Spanish and is currently transitioning into full-time telehealth to reach more people across multiple states.
A Family Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Juan earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami. He is ANCC board certified (FNP-BC) and has three years of experience in his field. His background includes 10 years as a firefighter paramedic and work as an emergency room nurse, charge nurse, and ED manager. He has provided care at Hialeah Hospital Emergency Department and HCA University Hospital Davie, and is a member of ANCC, AANP, and ANA.
Patients know Juan for listening closely, advocating for them, and practicing shared decision-making.
His path into healthcare began when his father was diagnosed with cancer. That experience, along with a strong interest in science and how the body works on a microbiological level, continues to guide his work. He most enjoys seeing patients get better.
