Hi, my name is Diana Scruggs and I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to supporting my patients on their mental health journey. I am bilingual, offering psychiatric services in English and Spanish. I take a patient-centered approach to care, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to address your unique concerns and goals. Whatever the challenge, I’m here to help you find balance, healing, and confidence in your path forward.
I am best positioned to serve individuals across the lifespan, from children to older adults, who need psychiatric care for a range of conditions, including opioid use disorder (with Suboxone treatment), ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and general mental health concerns. With experience in both medication management and psychotherapy, I offer holistic, personalized care for those seeking support in overcoming addiction, managing mood disorders, and improving overall mental health and well-being. My ability to work with diverse populations and provide integrated treatment makes me well-suited to help individuals navigate their mental health challenges and achieve lasting recovery.
I was born in Bogota, Colombia, and moved to the United States in 2007. I attended Chamberlain University, earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My nursing experience includes many years of serving the special needs pediatric population and in primary care. I also served at the Developing Brain Research Laboratory at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., gaining valuable insights into brain health and development. I graduated from Frontier Nursing University (FNU) with a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health. I am also currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at FNU, continuing to advance my clinical expertise and contribute to mental health care practices. I have served a wide range of patients with various mental health conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Outside of nursing, I find fulfillment as a dedicated wife and mother of four children. I have mentored new mothers through La Leche League and actively participate in MomCo (formerly Moms of Preschoolers).
