Intrarosa is used to treat moderate-to-severe vaginal dryness and pain during sex (dyspareunia) in postmenopausal women. These symptoms occur when estrogen levels drop after menopause, causing a condition called vulvar and vaginal atrophy (VVA). Vulvar and vaginal atrophy causes vaginal tissues to become thin, dry, and more fragile. This can make sex uncomfortable or even painful.
Common symptoms that Intrarosa may help with include:
- Vaginal dryness
- Burning or irritation
- Discomfort or pain during intercourse
Intrarosa won’t “cure” menopause (which is a natural part of aging). However, it can significantly ease the discomfort that comes from vaginal changes caused by low estrogen.
