Atomoxetine side effects
Atomoxetine can cause side effects. Common reactions include dry mouth, reduced appetite, heartburn, dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, sweating, fatigue or weakness, and changes in bowel habits such as diarrhea or constipation. These effects often improve as your body adjusts to the medication, but if they persist or worsen, contact your healthcare provider.
Some people may experience less common side effects such as itching, hives, skin rash, redness of the skin, mood changes, or an irregular or fast heartbeat. In rare cases, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, hands, and feet may occur, which can indicate an allergic reaction.
Rare but serious side effects have also been reported. Seek medical attention immediately if you experience symptoms such as fainting, convulsions, sudden loss of consciousness, painful or prolonged erections, muscle spasms, pelvic pain, or loss of bladder control.
Signs of possible liver problems, including dark urine, yellowing of the eyes or skin, or pain or tenderness in the upper right abdomen, should be evaluated by a doctor right away.
