Can I get LODOCO® (low-dose colchicine tablets) online?

Yes! During a video visit, a providers on Sesame can prescribe LODOCO® online and send it to your local pharmacy if appropriate. If you do not have insurance coverage, your provider can send the prescription to Blink Rx for home delivery if preferred.

Note that all prescriptions are at the discretion of your doctor.

Can I get LODOCO® (low-dose colchicine tablets) over the counter?

No, LODOCO® is only available with a prescription. A licensed healthcare provider needs to determine if it’s right for you.

If you’re considering LODOCO®, book an online doctor appointment on Sesame to see if it’s right for you. If prescribed, your provider can send your prescription to your preferred pharmacy for pickup.

How long will I need to take LODOCO® (low-dose colchicine tablets)?

LODOCO® is meant for long-term daily use, similar to statins or blood pressure medications, to reduce artery inflammation and lower your risk of heart attack or stroke over time.

What should I avoid while taking LODOCO® (low-dose colchicine tablets)?

Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice. It can raise the level of the drug in your body and lead to serious side effects.

Avoid certain medications, including some antibiotics and antifungals. Always check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting new medicines.

What are the side effects of LODOCO® (low-dose colchicine tablets)?

Some patients may experience mild digestive symptoms, such as:

Diarrhea
Stomach cramps
Nausea or vomiting
Muscle aches or soreness

Rare but serious side effects include blood disorders, muscle damage (which may cause pain, weakness, or numbness), and a small risk of temporary fertility issues in men. If you experience symptoms like severe stomach pain, muscle weakness, or tingling, call your doctor right away.

Never take more than the directed 0.5mg dose.

Do I need insurance to get LODOCO® (low-dose colchicine tablets)?

No insurance is required. If you’re uninsured, LODOCO® is available through Blink Health for $99/month with free delivery. With insurance, you may pay as little as $30 for a 3-month supply.

Can I get lab work through my visit?

Yes. If you'd like, your provider can order an optional hsCRP blood test through Quest Diagnostics. This blood test can help measure inflammation levels to assess your risk of cardiac events. The cost of your lab work is not included in the price of your online cardiovascular inflammation consult.

Please note the following state exceptions:

Lab orders are excluded in AZ, HI, ND, OK, SD & WY
If you live in NY, NJ or RI, your lab order will be sent to Quest Diagnostics, but you will be responsible for paying Quest directly due to state regulations
